Oasi del Bassone is a nature reserve with over 90 hectares of wooded areas, swamps and large meadows, located south of Como. This WWF oasis preserves many rare animal species like Red Frog or “Rana di Lataste”. Experts also count over 200 different types of birds: nesting species like Moorhen, Great spotted woodpecker,  Mallard, Turtle dove, Wood pigeon and Porciglione as well as migrating category including Osprey, Crane and Marsh Harrier.
